ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Physical Education at the College of Health and Sports Sciences at the University of Bahrain is one of the oldest physical education departments dedicated to training physical education teachers in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. It was established in 1982 It is responsible for preparing teachers who specialize in teaching physical education in schools and organizing and managing its activities at all educational levels, providing them with high-quality training through a unique team with extensive experience in the fields of sports science. It works tirelessly to pump hundreds of specialized graduates annually into the local and regional job market.
The Physical Education Department includes many high-quality facilities such as gyms, running tracks, swimming pools, outdoor playgrounds, squash courts, self-defense halls, and others.
The Department of Physical Education has close ties with many sports institutions that work together through community partnerships to use all resources and capabilities to solve issues related to physical education and serve various educational and sports sectors in order to achieve sustainable development.
The Physical Education Department offers a bachelor’s degree program in sports science, which is a modern academic program that keeps pace with developments in the field of sports science and aims to prepare scientifically and practically qualified cadres to work in various sports sectors. The program combines theoretical and practical aspects and focuses on providing students with the basic knowledge and skills that qualify them to enter the job market efficiently, in addition to promoting the values of continuous learning and community contribution. The program offers specialized tracks in key areas of sports science, and its courses are taught in both Arabic and English.
