PROGRAM LEVEL
The Bachelor of Nursing (Completion) program aims to graduate qualified nurses capable of meeting Bahrain’s healthcare needs through the application of innovative educational strategies.
The program also allows students with an Associate Degree (AD) to continue their studies and transition to graduate programs or advance their careers.
The program duration is one and a half years (three semesters), totaling 39 credit hours. In 2024, the curriculum was updated based on benchmarking studies with regional and international universities to align with international nursing education standards. The program is currently undergoing placement at level eight of the National Qualifications Framework.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
The graduates of the BSc. in Nursing (completion) Program will be prepared to:
- Provide competent, culturally sensitive, evidence-based nursing care by integrating knowledge, skills, and attitude.
- Apply clinical reasoning, decision-making, reflective analytical and leadership skills in the provision of nursing care.
- Demonstrate self-directed role in providing safe nursing care within the ethical, legal and professional nursing standards.
- Collaborate with clients and multi-disciplinary healthcare teams using professional communication skills and advanced technologies.
- Demonstrate commitment to the enrichment of community welfare.
- Contribute towards the advancement of the profession and healthcare services through lifelong learning and the application of basic research skills

The student of BSc. in Nursing (Completion) Program will be able to:

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates wishing to apply to the program must have the following:
The program intake of students is regulated by the University of Bahrain Study and Exams Policy, chapter two, Study Regulations, admission section, articles (4-10) for admission of new students. To be admitted to the B.Sc. in Nursing (Completion) program, the applicant shall fulfill the University of Bahrain admission requirement as follows:
- Associate degree (AD) in General Nursing with a minimum Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) of 2.0 on 4-point scale obtained from the College of Health Sciences (CHS) or AD certificate obtained from other recognized universities which has equivalent courses to those offered in the macro-curriculum of the AD program offered by CHS.
- Scored less than 2.0 in AD but have completed a post-basic program in any nursing specialty (e.g., Cardiac, Emergency, Community, Midwifery, Psychiatric Nursing), a minimum CGPA of 2.0 on 4-point scale is required in the post-basic certificate. Those applicants should have completed 93 credits and undertaken equivalent courses to those offered in the AD program by CHS.
- Pass language competency (passing the UOB English competency assessment, 450 on the TOEFL, or five on the IELTS).
- Hold a valid Bahraini Nursing License from health authorities such as the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) or GCC license.
- Passed personal interviews and any other tests required by the University.
