ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The physiotherapy program at the College of Health and Sport Sciences aims to achieve the University of Bahrain strategy and Bahrain Vision 2030 by preparing qualified physiotherapists. The graduates are expected to serve the community and support the health sector in Bahrain and the region. Teaching relies on the most critical rehabilitative, healthcare, and research findings in rehabilitating people from childhood to old age. The academic programs are based on theoretical teaching, practical application, clinical training, and scientific research, which are essential pillars for refining students’ skills to have a high level of knowledge, analysis, and critical thinking skills.

    Since its establishment, the physiotherapy department’s academic faculty consisted of the most qualified professors from Bahrain and the Arab world, who have diversified academic and scientific expertise. Their fields of knowledge included the musculoskeletal system, respiratory system, sports injuries, and anatomy sciences. The current faculty specialized in physiotherapy consists of two assistant professors who oversee the delivery of specialized bachelor’s and master’s courses. Qualified professors from outside the department also assist in teaching other supporting courses.
