PROGRAM LEVEL
The Postgraduate Diploma in Critical Care Nursing is a specialized program designed to provide candidates with advanced knowledge and skills for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients with complex and life-threatening conditions in critical care settings.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
The graduates of the program will be prepared to:
- Demonstrate expertise in the delivery of specialized critical nursing care.
- Employ leadership and collaborative roles in critical care settings.
- Pursue further career development and advanced postgraduate studies in the critical care nursing field.
- Assume responsibilities of dealing with ethical and legal issues related to critical nursing practice.
- Contribute to the advancement of critical nursing care specialty through lifelong independent learning
PROGRAM INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES
The graduate of the Program will be able to:
a. Incorporate advanced theoretical knowledge in critical nursing practice.
b. Deliver specialized critical nursing care based on the current evidence and clinical guidelines.
c. Utilize contemporary soft skills and technology in the care of critically ill patients.
d. Employ a collaborative role between patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams at diverse critical care settings.
e. Demonstrate accountability in providing safe nursing care within the ethical and legal frameworks.
f. Apply advanced research skills for the enrichment of the critical care nursing specialty
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The applicants of the program must fulfill the general admission requirements for postgraduate studies at the University of Bahrain in addition to the following program specific admission requirements:
- Hold a valid nursing license from the concerned responsible health authorities.
- Pass the personal interview at the department level.
- Submit two recommendation letters.
- Have a valid Basic Life Support Provider Certificate.
DEGREE AWARDING REQUIREMENTS
To graduate, students must fulfill the general graduation requirement stated in the postgraduate studies regulations of the University of Bahrain in addition to the following program specific graduation requirements:
- Complete Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
