FACULTY BIO

Mrs. Mariam Alannan (MSc in Medical Microbiology 2010, University of West of England, United Kingdom) is a lecturer at the integrated Sciences department, CHSS and she has more than 15 years of undergraduate teaching experience. She is a fellow of the UK higher education academy since 2017 and a certified professional trainer from HDTC training center and KHDA (Dubai). She held many positions, including head of the Integrated Sciences Department at the University of Bahrain, Biomedical Sciences Coordinator at University of Bahrain, Acting Head of Biomedical Sciences Department at the College of Health Scineces (CHS), Ministry of Health. Her areas of expertise include microbial pathogenicity and virulence; epidemiology and pathogenesis of infectious diseases; and biofilms. .Her research interest includes adhesion and invasion of microbes, heart rate variability and pedagogy.
