Dr. Leena Mohammad Khonji is an Associate Professor of Nursing and Midwifery. Currently, she is the Dean of the College of Health and Sport Sciences and the Director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Nursing Development in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (EMR). Dr. Khonji has over 25 years of clinical practice, academic leadership, and international health collaboration Her research expertise focuses on intrapartum care, evidence-based midwifery practice, women's health, and qualitative and mixed-methods research. She actively supervises master’s students across a wide range of research topics and is a dedicated contributor to the scholarly community, serving as a peer reviewer for several prestigious nursing and midwifery journals. Dr. Khonji also represents the nursing and midwifery professions on the Bahraini Council for Health Studies and Specialties.
