PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
- Graduate Advanced Practice Nurses who are competent to work in a variety of health care settings in an advanced practice role providing client-centered care that recognizes diversity and respects client preferences
- Prepare competent Advanced Practice Nurses who integrate evidence-based knowledge and critical thinking in clinical decision-making and leadership skills to provide cost-effective and high quality care to individuals, families, and populations
- Graduate Advanced Practice Nurses who value lifelong learning, engage actively in continuing professional development, and accept responsibility for his/her own continued competence.
- Empower Advanced Practice Nurses to contribute effectively towards the advancement of the profession and participate in institutional, local, and national health policy development
- Collaborate as a key member of an interprofessional team through the development of innovative practices to solve complex health care problems in diverse health care settings
- Graduate Advanced Practice Nurses with knowledge and skills in emerging technologies to coordinate and deliver quality health care services.
PROGRAM INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES
a) Apply nursing theories that form the basis for clinical nursing practice in diverse health care settings.
b) Demonstrate interprofessional team competencies in collaborative practice health care models to promote optimal health care outcomes.
c) Utilize evidence-based practice to provide cost-effective and high quality nursing care.
d) Actively engage in self-assessment of learning needs and professional enrichment and development.
e) Demonstrate comprehensive application of nursing process to promote, maintain and restore optimum function of clients within the specialty scope of practice.
f) Utilize computerized health information system and health care technologies in advanced nursing practice.
g) Demonstrate competence in an advanced practice specialty clinical setting that promotes optimal health care outcomes for individuals, families, communities, and health systems.
h) Conduct clinical nursing research and disseminate findings to improve nursing practice
i) Engage in ethical practice in all aspects of the Advanced Practice Nursing role
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Satisfactory academic achievement in the Bachelor of Science in nursing program with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.67/4 or 3.34/5.
- Minimum of two-year clinical experience.
- Two recommendation letters (one professional and one academic).
- Pass the admission interview.
- Hold a nursing license.
- English language competency with score of 500 in TOFEL or 6 in IELTS
