PROGRAM LEVEL

The Bachelor of Nursing (Completion) program aims to graduate qualified nurses capable of meeting Bahrain’s healthcare needs through the application of innovative educational strategies.

The program also allows students with an Associate Degree (AD) to continue their studies and transition to graduate programs or advance their careers.

The program duration is one and a half years (three semesters), totaling 39 credit hours. In 2024, the curriculum was updated based on benchmarking studies with regional and international universities to align with international nursing education standards. The program is currently undergoing placement at level eight of the National Qualifications Framework.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

The graduates of the BSc. in Nursing (completion) Program will be prepared to:

  1. Provide competent, culturally sensitive, evidence-based nursing care by integrating knowledge, skills, and attitude.
  2. Apply clinical reasoning, decision-making, reflective analytical and leadership skills in the provision of nursing care.
  3. Demonstrate self-directed role in providing safe nursing care within the ethical, legal and professional nursing standards.
  4. Collaborate with clients and multi-disciplinary healthcare teams using professional communication skills and advanced technologies.
  5. Demonstrate commitment to the enrichment of community welfare.
  6. Contribute towards the advancement of the profession and healthcare services through lifelong learning and the application of basic research skills

PROGRAM INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES

The student of BSc. in Nursing (Completion) Program will be able to:

  1. Integrate theoretical knowledge with professional nursing practice.
  2. Provide competent evidence-based nursing care at diverse clinical settings.
  3. Apply the international nursing standards in all aspects of nursing care.
  4. Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills in response to contemporary clinical issues.
  5. Employ communication skills and advanced technologies with clients and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  6. Demonstrate accountability of providing safe nursing care in accordance with ethical and professional standards.
  7. Cultivate lifelong learning and continuous professional development through reflective and self-directed activities

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Obtained an Associate Diploma in Nursing with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 out of 4.0 from the College of Health Sciences at the University of Bahrain or another recognized university.
  2. You can apply to the program if you obtained an Associate Diploma in Nursing with a cumulative GPA less than 2.0, provided that you have a specialized diploma in nursing with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 out of 4.0.
  3. A valid certificate of passing the English language proficiency exam at the University of Bahrain, or IELTS with a score of not less than 5.0, or TOEFL with a score no less than 450 points.
  4. A valid license to practice the specialty from health authorities.
  5. Pass personal interviews and any other tests required by the university.

Required Document

  1. A copy of a Valid passport
  2. A copy of a valid ID (non-Bahraini)
  3. Professional Personal Photo
  4. No objection letter from the university to which the student belongs.
  5. Copy of University Degree transcript and graduation statement
  6. A copy of the highschool transcript with a graduation statement.
  7. A copy of a valid residencepermit for non-Bahraini students.
  8. At least two years’ practical experience, for programs: (pharmacy – medical laboratory science – radiology diagnostic).
  9. Professional or academic recommendation letter, for programs: (pharmacy – medical laboratory science – radiology diagnostic).
  10. A valid license to practice from the health authorities.
  11. A valid IELTS or TOFEL English certificate.
  12. Special for Kuwaiti and Omani students: No objection letter from the Cultural Attaché’s Office for their embassies in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
